Two years ago, I retired from active nursing after 37 years of working as an RN. I worked many different areas of nursing and loved every minute of caring for others. I was diagnosed with Bipolar II disorder and had a tough time with several medications until I was stabilized on Lamictal twelve years ago. There are still episodes of depression, (one from which I just recovered), and hypomania, but not as severe. I have several serious health issues going on, but try to live my life to fullest possible with them. There was a quote one of my friends posted on Facebook that basically relays my attitude. It said something like those of us with a chronic illness spend our time trying to act normal/well. So true.
I have always loved to write so after retirement, I wrote two books, started a Facebook account, and now started this blog. It is important to me to be a contributing member of society. (Besides, I am a little ADHD also and have to be doing something most of the time.) I am enjoying meeting new people, learning new things, and making my thoughts tangible through writing. Thank you everyone who visits and reads my entries! Hopefully they enlighten or amuse you.
Congratulations on launching your blog! I look forward to reading more. Wanted to say thanks for the follow on I Write Her. I appreciate it. Hope you enjoy my thoughts too. ๐
